The Advanced Education Project
Background
Academically capable students from low income families living in and around the city of Oaxaca and rural indigenous youths who want to further their education at a public high school or university often cannot pay expenses related to travel (to the city and within the city), accommodation (if living away from home), food, clothing (including uniforms if required), tuition, school supplies, connectivity, and other required fees.

Project Information
The Project
CANFRO will support participating high school and university students who have met the requirements and been accepted by The Oaxaca Learning Centre into the scholarship program. The program includes two components: financial support during their time in school and additional training to strengthen personal and professional skills to succeed in life and become meaningful participants in society.
Outcomes
Students will be able to complete their education and be competitive as they enter the work force with marketable skills and knowledge. When one member of a family succeeds, the whole family benefits. The income these students make when they go to work is typically shared to improve the situation of the whole family.
Success Stories
CANFRO is proud to share real-life stories about youth who benefit from this project and the dedicated staff at our partner agencies who support them. These illustrate the direct impact of your donations.
