in conjunction with CANFRO’s partner, The Oaxaca Learning Centre

Hello, my name is Alexander Baltazar, I am 19 years old. I am a student beneficiary of the Gary Titus Scholarship Program. I am currently studying International Business at the Autonomous University of Mexico in Oaxaca City.

I am from a small indigenous community called San Mateo Cajonos in the Sierra Norte region of the state. I am a foreign student. My stay in the city has been very surprising, as I have met many people and discovered new things. I enjoy socializing and interacting with others.

I learned about the Learning Center through social media, and so far it has been a great support, since living in a different place than where I am from has meant facing different challenges.

The financial support provided to me through the scholarship helps me cover part of my rent, food, and transportation expenses to go to school.
So far, I feel very good and grateful for everything I have learned and the great experience I am gaining.
